Frequently Asked Questions

Herbal supplements are products that include one or more herbs in their formula. Herbs come from plants and can include flowers, leaves, roots, and oils. They may be sold in the form of liquids, oils, tablets, or capsules. Some of the ingredients in our most popular herbal supplements have been used for centuries to provide traditional support for a wide variety of health goals.

As with any supplement, it’s important to read the label recommendations and consult a healthcare professional if needed to make sure an herbal product is right for you.

Herbal supplements do have an expiration date on the package. Their expiration dates have more to do with the quality of the product and its ability to perform as expected. After the expiration date, potency may decrease, and you may not get the same effectiveness from the product.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration doesn’t require manufacturers to include the expiration date on supplements, but Nature’s Way does. All products sold in our herbal supplement store carry an expiration date based on potency testing.

Products are labeled as dietary supplements if they contain at least one dietary ingredient, such as a vitamin, mineral, herb, amino acid, or enzyme. An herbal supplement is a type of dietary supplement that contains one or more herbs in the formula.
