Frequently Asked Questions
Herbal supplements are products that include one or more herbs in their formula. Herbs come from plants and can include flowers, leaves, roots, and oils. They may be sold in the form of liquids, oils, tablets, or capsules. Some of the ingredients in our most popular herbal supplements have been used for centuries to provide traditional support for a wide variety of health goals.
As with any supplement, it’s important to read the label recommendations and consult a healthcare professional if needed to make sure an herbal product is right for you.
Herbal supplements do have an expiration date on the package. Their expiration dates have more to do with the quality of the product and its ability to perform as expected. After the expiration date, potency may decrease, and you may not get the same effectiveness from the product.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration doesn’t require manufacturers to include the expiration date on supplements, but Nature’s Way does. All products sold in our herbal supplement store carry an expiration date based on potency testing.
Products are labeled as dietary supplements if they contain at least one dietary ingredient, such as a vitamin, mineral, herb, amino acid, or enzyme. An herbal supplement is a type of dietary supplement that contains one or more herbs in the formula.
Stevia extract and olive leaf extract have each been shown to support healthy blood pressure levels already within normal range.*
Our BP Manager™ contains both stevia extract and olive leaf extract, ingredients which have separately been shown to support healthy blood pressure levels already within normal range.*
Melatonin isn’t an herb but a hormone your body produces to help regulate your sleep cycle and balance your internal clock.* Melatonin supplements such as Nature’s Way Melatonin Gummies provide non-habit-forming support to help you fall asleep faster.* The melatonin in our supplements is made synthetically.
No, probiotics are not herbal supplements. Herbs come from plants and can include flowers, leaves, roots, and oils. Probiotics are living microorganisms such as good bacteria to support digestive health.*
Probiotics have become a popular addition to many diets in the form of supplements. They are good microbes. Probiotics must be alive for them to work.
Nature’s Way offers a variety of probiotic products, including Probiotic Pearls® Women’s for digestive health and Primadophilus® Kids Probiotic for children over the age of 2.*
