Frequently Asked Questions
Multivitamins do expire, but not in the way you might think. After the expiration date, they can start to lose potency, which means you won’t get the maximum benefits.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration doesn’t require manufacturers to include the expiration date on supplements, but Nature’s Way does. We want you to always know the quality and freshness of our multivitamins and supplements. Many of our multivitamin formulas have a shelf life of two years, so long as they are stored according to instructions on the label.
Herbal supplements do have an expiration date on the package. Their expiration dates have more to do with the quality of the product and its ability to perform as expected. After the expiration date, potency may decrease, and you may not get the same effectiveness from the product.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration doesn’t require manufacturers to include the expiration date on supplements, but Nature’s Way does. All products sold in our herbal supplement store carry an expiration date based on potency testing.
Several supplements support heart function and general health, including those formulated with EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids.* Nature’s Way Fisol® Fish Oil is comprised of 50% EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids. Supportive - but not conclusive - research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Research confirms that these fatty acids help maintain healthy blood triglyceride levels already within the normal range.* (See Supplement Facts for total fat and cholesterol content). In addition, Hawthorn Extract supports heart health and CoQ10 supports cardiovascular health and cellular energy.*
One main difference is that women's multivitamins may contain more iron. Another is that men’s and women’s supplements contain different levels of vitamins and minerals.
For instance, women’s 50+ multivitamins may contain higher amounts of calcium than men’s to support bone health.*

Yes, men’s multivitamins are dietary supplements. While it might be ideal to meet all your nutritional needs through a well-balanced diet of whole foods, doing so can be challenging with today’s busy lifestyles.
