Question:
I want to start living a healthier life, but I'm intimidated. How can I feel better without changing everything at once?
One thing at a time. People often try to do too much and end up throwing in the towel. It’s not all or nothing. One baby step at a time will get you to better health.

One thing at a time. People often try to do too much and end up throwing in the towel. They think it’s all or nothing. One baby step at a time will get you to better health. If you’re eating five candy bars a day, dropping to four is progress! Celebrate those small steps.
What do you see yourself doing? What is most sustainable for you and your family? Is it nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress reduction? You must pick where you want to start and take small steps from there. If you choose exercise, it can be as simple as getting outside and moving, even if it’s just 10 minutes a day. Then, maybe you add on 5 minutes a day or add in a new type of activity. Once you have your first step under your belt, add the next one. All of this progress – small but important – will get you to where you want to be. Very few people can turn their lives upside down overnight.
Pick one route that’s interesting and exciting to you because you’re most likely to do that. You’ll have the most success in the beginning and keep resiliency for the things that are to come.
