Your Daily Immune Routine

What does your body need for immune health? Get started with this easy routine.

There are many lifestyle tips and tricks you can incorporate into your every day for an immune system that stays ahead of the game, and you also end up getting some good self-care in the process! Discover daily wellness tips and supplements for immune support and beyond.*

MORNING:

Stay active

Make sure to incorporate movement into your day, every day, even if it's just going for a walk. Exercise has been shown to give the immune system a boost by maximizing the body’s ability to take in and efficiently use oxygen, among other things.

Drink (more) water

Your body needs lots of water to keep your immune system in working order — it delivers nutrients to cells! Drink a big glass as soon as you wake up and keep it up throughout the day. We suggest investing in a large water bottle to stay properly hydrated throughout the day. Set checkpoints during the day to make sure you’re on track.

AFTERNOON:

Get some vitamin D

Vitamin D is an immune-supporting nutrient, which is why it’s important to get outside (don't forget the sunscreen!).* Missing your daily dose? Try our Vitamin D3 Gummies to make sure you’re covering all your bases — they’re fruit flavored and look like little drops of sunshine in a jar.

Laughter

Laughter is good for the soul — and the immune system. Positive thoughts associated with laughter can actually release neuropeptides that help manage stress and support the immune system. A good reason to grab a friend and have a chuckle or two.

Feed your gut

According to our on-staff integrative nurse and master herbalist Lynn Green, a large part of the immune system is in the gut, so keeping a healthy gut flora may help you feel your best every day. Eat fermented foods to nourish the good bacteria in your gut – think yogurt, kimchi, and sauerkraut. Reaching for a probiotic supplement is also another good option.

EVENING:

Stock your kitchen with vegetables

The ideal eating plan for a healthy immune system should include a wide variety of colorful vegetables. Try incorporating nutrient-rich veggies like sweet potatoes, spinach, and carrots that are packed with beta-carotene that gets converted into vitamin A, and vitamin C-rich vegetables like tomatoes, bell peppers, and broccoli. We think this stir-fry sounds good for a weeknight meal!

Get some sleep

Your body resets itself at night, so getting adequate shut-eye is needed to support many extremely important processes and systems, including your immune health. Struggle with occasional sleeplessness? Try our easy and convenient Sleep Tonight ™ Melatonin Drops. They’re carefully crafted with melatonin, L-theanine, and an herbal blend of passionflower and lemon balm to provide extra support in getting that essential slumber.*
