How to Support Your Wellness for the Holidays

Advice on how to support your wellness during the holidays.

Holidays can feel very “go, go, go.” You’re here, you’re there, you’re packing, you’re unpacking, you’re cooking, you’re baking, you’re decorating. You’re not alone — it’s easy to get run down, and it’s easier to forget to find time to just … enjoy the season. We’ve bundled a few suggestions for getting through the sluggish months not only in one piece, but to assist you in finding your own genuine seasonal happiness so you’re not waking up the first week in January going, “what just happened?”

Try a puzzle

During holiday season our brain is absolutely swamped. Doing a puzzle reinforces connections between brain cells that can get a little lost in the shuffle during peak Brain’s Always On season. Sit down with a group of your loved ones, grab a hot cocoa, and enjoy some old school entertainment.

Face masks

Let yourself relaaaaax. If you don’t have the time this holiday season for an appointment at the spa, making your own mask at home works and is also kinda fun. We’re fans of this Glowy Green Tea Mask from Self Magazine: Mix 1 Tbsp matcha green tea, raw honey, and baking soda, then add enough water to make a paste. Apply to your face and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.

Get extra sleep on the weekends

It’s not always easy to get to bed on time on the weekdays (especially during crazed holiday season) and we know you’re up early Monday through Friday. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sacking in a little later on the weekends to get some full rest. We know there’s no such thing as “catching up” on zzz’s, but covers pulled up and your head on the pillow for an extra hour on Saturday or Sunday makes you feel like new again. We offer a variety of tradtional herbs and formulas to support a good night's sleep.

Journal

Put a pen to paper and get out as much of what’s upstairs as you can. There’s no right and there’s no wrong, there’s just your fluid thoughts as a method of therapy. Set a timer for ten or fifteen minutes and express yourself, or even just doodle. You’ll feel better afterwards. It’s also an excuse to buy yourself a notebook or journal you’ve always wanted. Spend the extra money as a personal holiday gift!

Exercise

We’d be remiss not to mention our selection of mood supporting vitamins and supplements to lean on during times of stress, but it’s also essential to get some good ol’ cardio in regularly. Endorphins are a real thing, and we can’t think of a more important time to make sure they’re flowing than the time of year filled with family and a packed schedule.

Support your immune system

With colder weather and busy plans comes an overworked immune system. We’ve got you. Immune Power Gummies, Quercetin Gummies with Zinc, and Sambucus Gummies come packed with Vitamin C, Zinc, and other immune defense mechanisms so your body’s natural illness defense system is ready for just about anything.

Digestion support

There’s no reason not to be helping yourself to an extra cookie or several this holiday season — just make sure your stomach’s prepared for it. We recommend our Fortify 30 Billion Daily Probiotic, Probiotic Pearls Complete Digestive Health*, or NatureWorks Swedish Bitters to ease any of your potential digestive system woes.

Enjoy yourself

Try as hard as you can to not get completely sideswept during these couple months. There’s only so many days snow will fall with those big beautiful fluffy flakes, the air will have a tinge of pine to it, and you can get away with baking several sets of gingerbread men.
